What is cranial osteopathy ?
Cranial osteopathy is a very gentle form of osteopathic
treatment. By gently releasing tension and stress throughout
the body it is possible to treat a variety of conditions.
As a cranial osteopath i have done post graduate training
to become proficient in this method of treatment. You
learn to feel a very subtle, rhythmical shape change that
is present in all body tissues. Tension in the body will
disrupt this rhythm and the treatment attempts to correct
and release this tension.
When do I use Cranial osteopathy
Adults: when treating adults I often use
a mixture of traditional and cranial osteopathy as I find
that they work well together. Conditions that respond especially
well to cranial treatment include: headaches, sinus problems,
vertigo, migraines, stress and chronic ongoing musculoskeletal
pain.
Babies: cranial osteopathy is often used
to treat babies because it is a gentle and safe form of treatment.
The stress and strain of emerging into the world can have
a profound impact on the body. Cranial osteopathy can help
to release this tension and restore normal function. Conditions
which can often be helped include: excessive crying, colic,
sleeping and feeding difficulties.
