Osteopathy structural

What is it? Osteopathy recognises that a lot of pain and disability we suffer stems from dysfunction of our body’s structure and function. As an osteopath I treat musculoskeletal pain by balancing tissues and normalising function which then helps the body to heal.

Osteopathic treatment consists of a soft tissue massage, mobilisation of joints and where appropriate specific gentle manipulation of joints. The treatment will vary from person to person and from one treatment to the next. As an osteopath I use my skills in feeling strain in the tissues to normalise the function and thereby help to relieve the pain.

Treatment for:
Back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches, shoulder and arm pain, tennis elbow, hip pain, knee pain and foot pain, arthritis pain, dizziness, vertigo, whiplash, sports injuries. Repetitive strain injuries.

Do remember this list is not exhaustive so if you are not sure if osteopathic treatment is appropriate please contact me for further information.

Exercise:
I use exercise prescription as a great way to help the recovery and also to give you tools for preventing recurrence. I often also see people who would like help with developing a system of exercises specific for them. The exercise prescription will be specific for you and therefore often more effective. I use my skills as an osteopath to devise individual exercise protocols.
